When only light - to - moderate solids accumulation in the tower basin / remote sump is the primary concern, a LAKOS PREP / Separator system is applied with a series of LAKOS Eductors installed within the basin / sump. Continuous recirculation creates a directed turbulence to sweep the unwanted solids out of the basin / sump and through the separator for removal. Reduces blow down requirements. Controls the basin environment and potential bacteria/legionella growth. Minimizes water treatment needs.
Closed Loop Filtration

Closed Loop systems are not clean.
Flushing out debris does not ensure that the new
system will remain clean indefinitely. Whether by pre-flushing or installing a “token” cartridge filter on a closed loop system, much of the suspended solids will remain. Continuous filtration is the only effective answer, and a LAKOS separator will require much less ongoing maintenance than other filter-like options. With minimal liquid loss.
The dirt and suspended solids in a closed loop system are corrosive enough to cause noticeable damage to system components. Suspended solids in closed loop systems will lead to long-term damage and shorten the operational life of equipment
Heat Exchanger Protection

The separator provides complete downstream protection of the heat exchangers and keep high volume process
solids out of the tower basin or concrete sump.
It reduces heat exchangers cleaning cycles, and helps prevent solids accumulation in the tower basin sump.
